We are pleased to welcome former Newport Beach Mayor Will O’Neill, who was elected to his new role as Chairman of the Republican Party of Orange County on January 13th. O’Neill succeeds outgoing chair, Fred Whitaker and will lead the organization which represents nearly 650,000 registered Republicans.
Prior to taking the helm of the OCGOP, O’Neill completed his second term as Mayor of Newport Beach, which concluded after his second full term on the City Council (2016-2024). The Newport Beach City Council remains 7-0 Republican.
According to the Daily Pilot, O’Neill believes “good competent conservative governance” can bring voters back to the GOP who are put off by unpopular policies championed by liberal lawmakers in Sacramento.” To accomplish that, the party will need to “recruit candidates from communities who reflect the community’s values.” Bringing grassroots leaders who are already advocating for their neighbors to the forefront of the OCGOP will be his focus as head of the organization.
Regaining an advantage over Democrats at the polls will mean rebuilding trust with Orange County’s more than 3.1 million residents, O’Neill said. He believes Republicans are already accomplishing this at the local level by enacting conservative policies that focus on the needs and desires of their constituents. We look forward with great anticipation to hearing Will’s outlook for us as we head into our exciting new era of national government leadership.
About the OCGOP: The Republican Party of Orange County is governed by the men and women of the Central Committee. These are Orange County residents elected by their communities to represent them in their party for four-year terms. The Central Committee meets every third Monday of the month, and the public is invited to attend. For more information, please visit OCGOP.org

The Impact of Your Donation is Tremendous!!
Newport Harbor Republican Women is a unique group of over 500 conservative women. Every year we put on multiple events that promote democracy, freedom, and American values. These events serve as wonderful networking opportunities and provide a support system for our elected officials.
All of this is not possible without your donation!
Every election cycle NHRW hosts the Republican headquarters in Newport Beach — which is entirely funded by your donations. In the 2016 election lead up, we were the most active call center in California.— that is the fruit of your generosity.
Not only that, but NHRW hosts a summer social each year that allows constituents to connect with the Republican leaders in our area. In addition, we conduct voter registration year-round and organize get-out-the-vote activities during election time.
Every month from September to May we also host a luncheon at the picturesque Pacific Club. Each luncheon we hear from fabulous conservative leaders all over the country. In the past, we have heard from Bill Whittle, Ben Shapiro, Andrew Breitbart, David Azerrad, Micheal Reagan, Peggy Goldwater Clay, James O’Keefe, and Hugh Hewitt. This is a can’t miss event that all our members love.
However, especially for our big name speakers, we rely on the donations from our memebers to cover costs.
Speaking of our members we have strong women from all walks of life coming together around one central goal—the promotion of American values. NHRW offers more than events (although the events are some of the best in Newport.) NHRW offers a web of connections and valuable bonding to allow all our members to grow. When women come together there is nothing we can’t do.
We love our community and we do our best to give back and serve, but we can’t do it without you! Whether you’ve been a member for a long time or are just joining us, we can all get behind the values and principles that NHRW stands for. Since 1952 we have made an impact in our community by being involved in local government and charities. More information on our charities can be found below. We appreciate your support and look forward to working alongside you to make the Newport Harbor area flourish.
